Carménère
estate grown
100% Carménère
Most will remember the “heat dome” late June 2021, when temperatures close to a week soared up to 45°C. The rest of the summer 2021 continued with hot temperatures providing low disease pressure among the vines and one of the earliest harvests with small vibrant fruit and ripe tannins. In general, the crops were down however the quality of fruit made up for it.
In the glass aromas of spicy cast of dried orals with underpinning of grilled red plums. A little loam and clove accented red current with more plum and cinnamon bark flavors linger in the mouth. It ends on a note of espresso laced tannins with a light hint of cola. A great deal going on in this glass and it will continue to do so for at least another decade.
Conjures images of grilled ribs accompanied with a chimichurri.
Enjoy!
